With the new adjustments to the Brazilian football calendar, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) published this Thursday morning the news regarding the football competitions in Brazil, with the end of the Brazilian Football Championship for the 24th February. Furthermore, the publication matches the Fifas dates for the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

The previously announced dates remain firm, with the Series A of the Brazilian Football Championship for August 9, with the closure set for February 24, 2021.

"The details of the first rounds will be made available by the Competition Board of Directors at the beginning of next week, together with the Operational Guidelines for holding the matches" - Communicated the CBF.

With all this, the resumption of the tournaments will conflict with the state ones, as for example in São Paulo, which will return with Paulistão on July 22, considered to end on August 8. Other states will not be able to close before the start of Serie A of the Brasileirão.

The Copa do Brasil is scheduled for the semifinals for the dates of 23 and 30 December, containing competitions in the middle of Carnival through the 35th and 36th rounds on Saturday and the Ash Wednesday holiday.

It was also revealed that the CBF is working on the women's football calendar.

"This redesign is the way we found to deliver the calendar in full and guarantee the fulfillment of the commitments assumed by the clubs with the television rights holders, sponsors and supporters".

The other competitions such as Libertadores and Sul-Americana still have no speculation about the return, as long as Conmebol has not released new information about the championships. But the CBF is hopeful that Copa Libertadores and Copa Sul-Americana will be able to return.

Now for the 2022 Qualifiers, the International Football Federation (FIFA) has projected for September the start of the Qualifiers, where six dates will be reserved for the first rounds of the tournament, with two disputes for the month of September between the 3rd and the 8th, soon afterwards in October, on dates 8 and 13 and lastly, in November, between days 12 and 17. With all this, it is still predicted that Brazil will debut in a confrontation against Bolivia at the Maracanã stadium. Remembering that the round was scheduled to happen in Pernambuco, however, CBF decided to change this.
